About Us
HLC Kids Academy opened in 2016 with a simple goal: to create a place where young children would be cared for with warmth, intention, and genuine love.
From the beginning, we wanted to build more than just a childcare center. We wanted to create a school that families could truly lean on. A place that felt safe, honest, nurturing, and deeply supportive during some of the most important years of parenthood.
Over the years, HLC Kids Academy has grown into a trusted and meaningful part of the community. We are proud to have become a pillar for so many local families, and it means so much to us that parents have continued to place their trust in us through so many firsts, milestones, and seasons of growth.
As our children grew with us, so did the needs of our families. Many parents wanted a place to continue their child’s journey beyond the toddler years while still holding onto the same warmth, values, and sense of care they found at HLC Kids Academy.
That is what led to the growth of The City School, our preschool campus. The City School was created in response to our community and our desire to continue supporting families for even longer. Together, our schools create a thoughtful and connected beginning for children from infancy through the preschool years.
As a family-centered, grassroots school community, we care deeply about the experience families have with us from the very beginning. We understand how big it feels to leave your baby or toddler in someone else’s care, and we never take that trust lightly.
At HLC Kids Academy, we are not simply here to care for children during the day. We are here to build relationships, support families, and create a strong and loving start for every child who walks through our doors.

There are first smiles and first steps, but also teething, sleep regressions, separation anxiety, transitions, and so many questions in between. We understand that these years are filled with both joy and uncertainty, and we believe families deserve a school that feels like a true partner through it all.
At HLC Kids Academy, we strive to be the kind of place that supports not only the child, but the whole family. We take the time to really get to know each child — their rhythms, personality, comforts, preferences, and needs — so that care can feel personal, thoughtful, and responsive.
We know there is no one-size-fits-all approach to babies and toddlers. Every child unfolds in their own way and in their own time, and we believe they deserve to be met with patience, gentleness, and understanding every step of the way.
